The RAMI87-50 SATWING is constructed of an aluminum center plate with eight (8) flexible arms. The RAMI87-50 SATWING provides a rigid metal surface for stable RF energy transmission while providing a breakaway surface to prevent damage to vehicles or personnel when unintentional collision occurs. Designed to absorb the impact and then spring back into shape for continued use without harm to personnel or damage to the antenna.

RAMI’s SATWING provides a proper ground plane surface for various UHF SATCOM antennas when mounting directly to a large metal surface is not viable.  Installing typical UHF SATCOM antennas to non-metallic surfaces, or on risers that elevate them from the metal surface, will significantly degrade the gain and pattern of the antenna, reduce signal strength, and create link failures. Providing this crucial ground plane will help assure solid communications. Compatible with multiple styles of UHF SATCOM antennas such as the RAMI8711, RAMI8715, and RAMI8722.
